Steve Dingmann and the Co-chairs of the MN State Amateur Baseball Tournament
as the 2015 Hometown Pride Honorees
Steve Dingmann is an outstanding example of who the Hometown pride Award is intended to recognize. Steve’s dedication to the local community is exhibited by the time, talent and service he constantly shares with local events and non-profits.
Steve serviced over 31 years to the Cold Spring Fire Department. As a member of the department he held various positions including Captain and President of the Relief Association. Steve continually volunteers his knowledge and skills as an electrician in many ways. St Boniface, Habitat for Humanity, the Cold Spring Area Food Shelf and Firefest have all benefited from Steve’s generosity. As part of the Hometown Pride Award the Cold Spring Area Chamber of Commerce makes a $500 donation to honoree’s charity of choice. Steve has selected the Cold Spring Area Food Shelf. |
As Co-Chairs of the 2015 State Amateur Baseball Tournament, Tom Ficker, Kurt Hemmesch and Dave Hinkemeyer spent many hours organizing this multi-weekend event. In fact, years before the first pitch was thrown, Tom, Kurt and Dave were in meetings with the state amateur baseball board and local government officials.
Their efforts organizing, fund raising, and overseeing the upgrades to the Cold Spring Baseball Park not only culminated in a successful baseball tournament, but brought thousands of baseball fans to town, benefiting the local economy and showcasing the Cold Spring area.
