What inspired you to start your business?
I felt there was a better way to put people first in the transportation business, customers, team members, drivers. It has worked, we were named a Best Fleet, an Elite Fleet, Best Company for Women, and A Top MN Workplace. And our driver retention is 90%, unheard of in the trucking industry.
When did you open your doors (or purchase the business), and what was that first year like?
We opened on June 17th, 1996, in a small, rented office. Back in the 1900’s as my grandson says, lol! I was beyond scared, but knew we would succeed! I had some amazing loyal customers who believed in my mission- Grand Champions of Customer Service! I am beyond excited that we will be celebrating our 30th year in business in 2026!
What’s something you’ve learned about owning a business that you didn’t expect?
Taxes! I had no clue how much more taxes would be and the responsibility expected from business owners in our state, yikes! Advice, get a great accountant from the start!
How has the community supported you throughout your journey?
Nothing but amazing! I am grateful beyond words for the trust bestowed upon my company by so many amazing customers and the community! We love to give back to our community, because they have been so supportive of us! When you ship with Brenny, you help us help our community.
What does being a small business in the Cold Spring area mean to you?
My roots are deep in Cold Spring, my grandparents all grew up and farmed in the area. I love Cold Spring! My daughter and son in-law both graduated from ROCORI, Go Spartans!
How have you been able to support the local communities?
We helped donate to the splashpad playground, my grandkids love this park! We always help the concert in the park, we love being in the parade, golf outing sponsorship, we always help all the schools and we contribute to Firefest! We love Cold Spring!
