What inspired you to start your business?
The entrepreneurial spirt runs rampart through our family and being able to build a team of high achievers, both personally and professionally, is rewarding for me.
To really make a difference in our customers’ lives makes this business much more meaningful!
When did you open your doors (or purchase the business), and what was that first year like?
Doors opened for business on Jan 1st, 2014 and glad it was a Federal Holiday as barely knew how to get the computer systems up and running. 1st year was tough and rewarding all in the same. What I really take from that initial year was you may not know everything right away, but with the right frame of mind (and outside counsel), you can get your customers the answers they are looking for!
What’s something you’ve learned about owning a business that you didn’t expect?
Nothing is given to you – you have to go get it.
Don’t get too high or too low – each day is a new opportunity to learn something new
Always respect your customer’s position!
We are in the people business offering insurance solutions, not insurance salespeople selling insurance.
How has the community supported you throughout your journey?
Ummm, simply couldn’t have a better supporting community. Lots of like-minded business owners and professionals to soundboard off each other – interesting takes from different industries.
What does being a small business in the Cold Spring area mean to you?
Means the world – in a community like this, our small business community can do some really great things when working together. Many hands make a load light….and our collective efforts can have a tremendous impact on our community
