Celebrating Small Businesses

Picture
What type of products or services do you offer?
We offer a wide variety of gifts for men, women and kids.  We focus on cultivating and carrying thoughtfully curated gift items, many of which are from local artisans.

What inspired you to start your business?
I've always enjoyed shopping at small stores that offer unique items especially in destination towns like Cold Spring.

When did you open your doors (or purchase the business), and what was that first year like? November of 2024.

What’s something you’ve learned about owning a business that you didn’t expect?
I think I expected that everything would be a learning experience so I would say it's all been unexpected, and it's all been very rewarding.

How has the community supported you throughout your journey?
The chamber has been so great in offering ways to network and get to know others within the community.  These business owners have been great to bounce ideas off of and continue collaborating with to see how we can continue to help spread the word of all the great local offerings the ROCORI community has.

What does being a small business in the Cold Spring area mean to you?  I grew up in a small town in Iowa and it was hard to assimilate into the culture of that town.  I've found the exact opposite has been true of my experience as a parent and business owner in the Cold Spring community.  I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of the town and very welcomed by the community.

How have you been able to support the local communities?
Spreading the word of mouth of other businesses to people that stop into my store.  I'm so very fortunate to be located next to a Cold Spring staple, the Cold Spring Bakery, and I don't take that lightly in spreading the word for people looking for other things to see, do or buy in town. I continue to advocate for ways we as a community can keep the dollars working here locally and am excited at the prospect of continuing to help the ROCORI area become an even greater mecca for visitors.  Visit us next to Cold Spring Bakery and online
